The new Chanel Les Beiges goodies are finally almost here (D-day: June 15th)! I’ve only got to photograph the pieces so far, but I know many of you are dying to see more from the collection so I’m going to share the swatches and my first impression of *Marinière Nº 02, *Sheer Color Stick Blush Nº 20, *Hydrating Lip Balm Nº 10, *Beige Pur Le Vernis, and *Precious Beige Le Vernis!
First of all, can we take a moment to admire the chic packaging? Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder is housed in a beige/black compact that most of us have grown to know pretty well. Both the Healthy Glow Sheer Color Stick and Healthy Glow Hydrating Lip Balm come in glossy black tubes with a nice heft and that clicky-click-click. Nicely done!
I sat the 2014 Les Beiges out because both powders seem rather light for my skin tone, but I think I will get along just fine with Chanel Les Beiges Marinière Nº 02 (RRP in Belgium: 55 euros). From the beautiful subtle sheen to the rosy scent, from the silky smooth texture to the barely-there glow, everything about this baby screams Les Beiges! I actually gave me regular Nº 30 to a friend who is a total addict (she used up her first compact, and I thought mine deserved a more loving mama), but I am wondering if Marinière Nº 02 could be comparable.
Chanel Les Beiges Marinière Nº 02 swatch:
Besides the excellent texture and color payoff, what I already like about Marinière Nº 02 is the fact that the undertone is more golden than reddish to my eyes. This should make it easier to pull off!
Who else is super psyched about the Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Color Sticks? There are three shades in total, and I have Nº 20 (8 grams/0,28 oz. RRP in Belgium: 29 euros. To be honest, I think it might be 39 instead. The Hydrating Lip Balm you see here is listed as 35,50. It doesn’t make sense for a blush stick to go for less, but we will see). The formula shares the same rosy scent with the powder.
In all honesty, if you let me pick, Nº 20 is probably the shade out of the three that I am the least inclined to add to my collection. However, after swatching it properly, I spot some real potential!
Chanel Nº 20 Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Color Stick swatch one pass/blended out:
The only “complaint” I have about this one is I have no idea why Chanel added “sheer” to the name. I personally wouldn’t call something that has this level of color payoff sheer, but let’s not quibble over terminology. My initial impression is that while the formula is silicone-heavy, it does not feel slippery or greasy. I don’t expect to have problems blending it out, and it does set after a few seconds. Here is to hoping it will last well (Nº 22, the coral, is calling my name rather loudly)!
Chanel Nº 10 Healthy Glow Hydrating Lip Balm swatch:
A tinted lip balm from Chanel? I don’t think it gets more chic than this! The tint is sheer, so chances are you won’t be able to see much of a difference on me. I’ll get back to you about how hydrating the formula is though!
Last but not least, I have great news for nude nail lovers: there are three Le Vernis in this collection. You see Beige Pur (659) and Precious Beige (661) here. If clean-looking, understated tips are your thing, I think you will get a kick out of these!
Now over to you: did you see anything interesting here?
